2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone (DHP) is an organic compound derived from Garcinia xanthochymus.The ultraviolet absorber UV-P appears as colorless or pale yellow crystals. It can dissolve in various organic solvents such as gasoline, benzene and acetone. It has extremely low solubility in water and is not decomposed by concentrated alkali or concentrated acid. It can ionize with heavy metals to synthesize salts.
